How detection works

Readers only know about the people who touch them. Protect looks at the doorway itself, so it sees every person who crosses it, badge or no badge.

Inside, looking at the door

One camera per door, mounted inside the club, 2.4 to 3.2 metres up and a few metres back. It sees the whole door leaf and the floor just inside it. Nothing faces the street.

Counts bodies, matches badges

Every crossing of the door line is a person. Every badge your access control reports is a credit. Protect reconciles the two in real time, on the box in your comms cupboard, and only speaks up when they don’t match.

Learns your door

The door line and the count zone are drawn onto the live picture by us, remotely, in the first days — your installer only positions the camera. It reads the door leaf too, so it knows open from closed, propped from passing.

Every alert lands with the clip. Critical ones after hours go to your phone; everything else waits for the morning. You watch, you decide, and the outcome sits on the card for good.

Staffed hours

Sign-ups, trials, tradies and deliveries all look like tailgating to a camera. Not to the person at the front desk. So you tell Protect your staffed hours once, and it records everything during these hours without accusing anyone.

After hours, it acts

Once the desk closes, a critical alert pages your phone and the notices below can go out. This is the 11 pm problem, solved at 11 pm.

The notices

The person you can talk to is the member who badged. Protect drafts the message before anything is sent, you see exactly what would land, and it goes out from your gym, not from us.

First notice · Ironbark Fitness

Hi Sam, our entry system noticed someone came in with you last night. Guests need a pass, so just a heads up. Reply if this doesn’t sound right and we’ll take a look.

Friendly, no accusation. A reply pauses the ladder and flags the alert for a human.

Second notice · Ironbark Fitness

Hi Sam, this is the second time someone’s come in with you without a pass. If they’d like to train here, this link gets them a week on us. Otherwise, please make sure the door closes behind you.

Firmer, and it can carry your join offer. The person sneaking in wants to train here.

Third notice · your call

Warn again, charge the guest fee, flag the membership, or pick up the phone. One tap on the alert does any of them.

By the third, a person decides. The ledger keeps every notice, who sent it and when.
